Jersey history and heritage attractions

Getting to know the Channel Islands history and heritage is a fascinating subject. For such small islands there is a big history! From neolithic burial mounds to castles and military defences, there are many fascinating places to investigate. The Channel Islands were also taken over by German forces during World War II and the Occupation has left a legacy of its own. Grosnez Castle

The Pallot Steam Motor & General Museum

There is something to excite the interest of everyone at The Pallot Steam Motor & General Museum. It features a fascinating collection of steam, farm and other machinery, motor vehicles, vintage bicycles, a variety of organs and so much more. Open April to October, although closed Sundays and on Good Friday. Located in Trinity.

National Trust for Jersey heritage attractions

16 New Street

16 New Street is a Georgian Townhouse with interactive displays and a shop.

Grève de Lecq Barracks

Grève de Lecq Barracks date from Napolean’s time with exhibits and a shop.

Hamptonne Country Life Museum

600 years of life in Jersey is bought to life with real life exhibits at Hamptonne Country Life Museum. Learn about the history of cider making on the island or enjoy the crafts, café, animals and gardens. (Also a Jersey Heritage attraction).

Le Moulin De Quétivel

Le Moulin De Quétivel is a restored and preserved working mill, still producing flour. Enjoy the herb garden, shop and refreshments.

Le Moulin de Tesson

Explore Jersey’s Industrial past at Le Moulin de Tesson with its walled courtyard, wheel pit and engine room where a short film tells the Mill’s story.
