Trip Advisor Travellers Choice announced

Trip Advisor readers have voted 4 Channel Island hotels as amongst the best in the UK. As the 2016 awards were announced, Hotel La Place (Jersey), Longueville Manor (Jersey), Greenhills Country Hotel (Jersey) and The Old Government House Hotel (Guernsey) have all made it into the Top 25 Hotels in the UK.

Number 7 – Hotel La Place

Praised by reviewers for its warm hospitality, relaxing atmosphere and attention to detail, Hotel La Place is situated by beautiful St Brelade’s Bay in Jersey. Other reviewers loved the quality of the rooms and extra touches – such as picking guests up in their own limo and complimentary glasses of champagne!

Number 8 – Longueville Manor

Longueville Manor in pretty St Saviour, Jersey had a good year. The luxury hotel is the only five red star hotel in the islands’ and also belongs to the Relais & Châteaux Worldwide collection of luxury small hotels and restaurants. With spa facilities and 30 beautifully appointed bedrooms, the hotel also launched it’s own yacht, Fizz Too, last year, exclusively for charter by guests. Set in 18 acres, grounds include a magical woodland area and kitchen garden which provides fresh produce for the AA 3 Rosette restaurant.

Number 13 – Greenhills Country Hotel

A ‘charming’ hotel in a ‘beautiful,’ ‘peaceful’ setting, Greenhills Country Hotel was praised for its comfort by more than one reviewer with the ‘fluffy towels’ and delicious menu choices deserving a special mention. Again, the professional attitude of the staff was mentioned by more than one reviewer with their genuine love of hospitality helping to secure the hotel its well deserved position.

Number 25 – The Old Government House Hotel

For an hotel from such a tiny island to make the list speaks volumes. ‘Unashamedly exquisite’ and ‘quietly decadent,’ reviewers praised the comfort, decor and service along with the fantastic menu choices at The Old Government House Hotel in Guernsey. Relaxation seems to be the overall feel and many a guest commented they would be returning – surely the best marker of all!
