It’s looking like a busy summer 2015 in Guernsey with traditional shows, beach events, Seafront Sundays and motoring events all on the calendar. How about following a Scarecrow trail, walking in the footsteps of the Guernsey witches or catch a free film as the sun goes down at Cobo Bay?

Motor Events

Throughout July & August

  • 4th July, 1st, 15th, 29th (11.30am) August – sand racing at Vazon Bay from 12.30pm
  • 18th July, 8th, 31st August – British Motor Racing Hill Climb at Val des Terres, 9/9.30am

Seafront Sunday Events

St Peter Port seafront is closed during Seafront Sundays and pop up stalls, live music and entertainment takes place.

5th July – Taste Guernsey

  • 5th July, 2nd August – Taste Guernsey Seafront Sunday
  • 19th July – Motorsport Seafront Sunday
  • 30th August – Guernsey Marathon Seafront Sunday

Enjoy the tasty produce, watch a cookery demo or peruse the stalls along the seafront on St Peter.

West Coast Weekend

11th – 12th July

Guernsey Museum weekend with events held on the west coast of Guernsey including science, nature and even shipwreck exploration, 10am until 4.30pm.

Burnt at the Stake

17th & 27th July

Tales of witchcraft in Guernsey are rife on this walk from Market Square to Tower Hill. Meet 6pm.

KPMG Castle Nights

17th & 31st July, 7th August

Celebrations at Castle Cornet as live music, poetry, dancing and historical dressing up takes place. Pack a picnic and enjoy!

18th July

With a parade from 11am, family fun and entertainment guaranteed.

Rocquaine Regatta

25th July

Annual beach fun at Rocquaine with games and entertainment on the beach as well as free entry to Fort Grey.

Torteval Scarecrow Festival

1st & 2nd August

Buy a trail map and follow the scarecrows through the pretty parish of Vale with refreshments en route.

Oddsocks Outdoor Theatre

Buy a ticket for a version of Shakespeare’s ‘Much Ado About Nothing’ or ‘Twelfth Night.’ Performances from 7pm at Castle Cornet.

Markets

Throughout the summer:

  • Castel Parish Farmers Market opens at 9am every other Saturday throughout the year in Le Friquet Garden Centre, Castel.
  • The Farmers and Fisherman’s Market offers Fresh local produce including locally caught seafood. Open every Saturday from 9am, during the winter months the market operates from St Martin’s Parish Hall and moves to Sausmarez Manor from April.
  • Fresh Fridays Produce Market in Market Square, St Peter Port, opens from 8.30am until 2.30pm every Friday. Guernsey local produce is for sale including fresh fish, meat, vegetables, chutney, pâté, deli and cakes.
  • St Peter’s Community Market offers a selection of plants, pies, homemade jams and fresh produce every Wednesday 10-11am in the Community Hut, behind St. Peter’s Post Office.
