Channel Island Trip Advisor Winners

Be inspired by the islands!

We know it but it’s great to hear others think it too – Jersey is officially the Trip Advisor Travellers’ Choice best UK island for 2015! Jersey’s stunningly beautiful 44 square miles were also voted as the 6th best island in Europe 2015 beating Majorca, Capri, Tenerife and Corsica.

As part of the description of Jersey, Trip Advisor wrote:

“…the partying of choice is the annual Battle of Flowers, a sweet-smelling carnival that culminates in the Moonlight Parade. Kayakers, surfers, divers and sailors will find plenty to love about Jersey’s active watersports scene, and adrenaline junkies will (cliff) jump for a coasteering tour of the caves, cliffs and crags. A day of shopping and café-hopping in St. Helier is an excellent dose of cultural retail therapy.”

Hotel La Place lounge

Hotel La Place

The four star Hotel La Place in Jersey was awarded a prestigious place in the Travellers Choice Top 10 Hotels in the UK. The former seventeenth century Jersey farmhouse is nestled in the peaceful countryside amongst Jersey’s green lanes in St Brelade, just a short walk from St Aubins harbour. Already boasting an AA Rosette for its restaurant food, there’s also an outdoor pool and bar.

busy St Brelades Bay

St Brelades – one of the best beaches

As if running away with the title of best UK island wan’t enough, Jersey’s St Brelades beach was also voted for in the Travellers Awards as the 4th best beach in the UK 2015. Quoting it as a “beautiful clean beach” Trip Advisor users were also amazed at the vast expanse of sand and availability of beach side amenities such as cafés, shops and restaurants.

Shell Beach in Herm

Shell Beach in Herm was also placed 23rd in the poll and possibly owes its position further down the list more to the fact it has less visitors and isn’t as well known. Quoted as “paradise” people loved its position on the island as it’s the perfect stop off point for a coffee or well earned ice cream.
