Guernsey Autumn Walking Week Plus

6th – 21st September

Advertising ’46 rambles and ambles’, Guernsey’s Autumn Walking Weeks look like a great way to get to know the island. With walks graded as ‘amble’, ‘medium’ and ‘ramble’ there really is something for everyone, with your four legged friend welcome on most walks.

Whether you would like to cover ‘Ten Parishes in one Day’ or would like to find out more about Les Miserables author, Victor Hugo and his stay on the island, they’ll be a walk guided by knowledgeable members of the Bailiwick of Guernsey Guild of Accredited Guides whose interests include some of the islands botany, history, architecture, marine life and plenty of myths and legends!

Walks cost £6 per tour and can last up to half a day. However, a tear off voucher with the Guernsey Healthspan Autumn Walking Weeks programme will entitle you to a free walk. Early booking is advised!

Jersey Autumn Walking Week

13th – 20th September

If Jersey’s Spring Autumn Walking Week is anything to go by, Autumn Walking Week looks to be promising a variety of walks and talks enabling you to get to know some of the little known (and often private) rambles on the island. Not released until the 1st September, the programme will offer over 40 walks, many free of charge.

Walking in the Channel Islands

If you love walking then The Channel Islands are made for you! Even the biggest island, Jersey, is compact enough to discover on foot at just 45 square miles. The islands tourist boards have worked hard at producing some fantastic guides with a variety of themes including moonwalks, foraging and seabed walks in Jersey and Guernsey’s ‘Tasty Walks’ series, commissioned with help from TV chefs Dick and James Strawbridge. Both Jersey and Guernsey also have a number of knowledgeable and accredited guides who offer seasonal guided walks on a weekly, if not daily basis throughout the year.

For more ideas about walking in The Channel Islands, take a look at our ‘Channel Islands walking holiday‘ page.
