Bouley Bay Hill Climb

17th July

Watch as cars compete around the Bouley Bay hills in Trinity. Spectators welcome – £4 adults, Pensioners £3, under 16′s free. 10am – 5.30pm

Big Gig in the Park 

18th – 20th July

Starting with Legend in the Park on 18th July with Tom Jones, The Big Gig line up continues with top acts such as Lawson and Conor Maynard, live in Howard Davies Park.

Jersey Model Boat Show

19th – 20th July

Model boats and vehicles along with refreshments in St Brelade’s Parish Hall. Free entry. 10am – 5.30pm

Band of the Island of Jersey

21st July, 11th August

Watch the band march through St Helier for a concert in the Royal Square. 7:30pm – 9pm

Horseracing ‘Jersey Derby’

Battle of Flowers and Moonlight Parade

14th – 15th August

Jersey’s wonderful floral carnival spectacular. Main parade 14th August 2:30 – 5pm, Victoria Avenue and around St Aubin’s Bay, St Helier and then watch as the magical illuminated flower floats parade both sides of Victoria Avenue in St Helier starting at 7.45pm on 15th August, parade 9pm with a fireworks finale at 10:30pm.

Summer events in Guernsey:

Burnt at the Stake 

17th, 22nd, 27th July

Experience Guernsey in the 16th Century as tales of heresy abound with the story of 3 unfortunate local women burnt at the stake. 6pm – 7pm starting from Piquet House, St Peter Port More details from Guernsey Museums and Galleries.

KPMG Castle Nights

18th, 25th July, 8th August

Free music and entertainment at Castle Cornet in St Peter Port from 6pm – 9pm.

Town Carnival and La Faete D’La Musique a la Ville

19th – 26th July

Starting at 11am with a parade, watch traditional entertainment around the streets of St Peter Port during the week.

Torteval Scarecrow Festival

26th – 27th July

Take a walk around the pretty village of Torteval whilst following the Scarecrow trail and stop for refreshments on the way. 10am – 5pm.

Rocquaine Regatta 

2nd August

Using the beach, sea and stage for activities and entertainment, join in with the free events including entry to Fort Grey Maritime Museum.

The South Show*

8th – 9th August 

The southern parishes kick off a series of local shows with homemade food, crafts and competitions.

Fantastic fresh culinary creations on the seafront in St Peter Port. Demonstrations, stalls, entertainment and crab picking as well as a BBQ competition. 10 – 5pm.

The West Show*

13th – 14th August

Continuing the theme of local shows, it’s the turn of the west coast parishes with local costume and agricultural and horticultural displays.

Fete D’Etai’ Summer Festival

17th August

Discover all things Medieval at this historical family fun day at Castle Cornet 10am – 5pm. Dress entirely in Medieval costume to gain free entry!

Sure Outdoor Big Screen

19th – 25th August

Showing 3 films a day on the big screen in Cobo, Castel. Aimed at youngsters in the afternoon, families after school and grown ups in the evening.

The North Show and Battle of Flowers*

20th – 21st August

The last of the local summer shows at Saumarez Park followed by the fantastic Battle of Flowers and later moonlit parade, topped off by a late night fireworks display.

Normandie Market

23rd – 25th August

Discover Guernsey’s French food influence. 9.30am – 5.30pm, North Beach, St Peter Port.

24th August

Arts festival with live music, food and a children’s area. 12pm – midnight at Vale Castle. Under 12′s free.

Guernsey Round Table Harbour Carnival

29th August

Lots of watery fun and entertainment from 5 – 10pm at St Peter Port Harbour.

Throughout the year Guernsey has a series of markets and food events showcasing the best local produce with specialities such as Guernsey Gâche and fresh seafood on offer:
  • Castel Parish Farmers Market opens at 9am every other Saturday throughout the year in Le Friquet Garden Centre, Castel.
  • The Farmers and Fisherman’s Market offers Fresh local produce including locally caught seafood. Open every Saturday from 9am, during the winter months the market operates from St Martin’s Parish Hall and moves to Sausmarez Manor from April.
  • Fresh Fridays Produce Market in Market Square, St Peter Port, opens from 8.30am until 2.30pm every Friday. Guernsey local produce is for sale including fresh fish, meat, vegetables, chutney, pate, deli and cakes.
  • St Peter’s Community Market offers a selection of plants, pies, homemade jams and fresh produce every Wednesday 10-11am in the Community Hut, behind St. Peter’s Post Office.
Each weekend during the Spring and Summer months there are a series of concerts in St Peter Port:
  • Saturday Concerts in Market Square 10th May – 27th September – take place from 12.15pm until 2.30pm in Market Square, St Peter Port.
  • Sunday Concerts in Candie Gardens 11th May – 28th September – musical concerts and dancing in Candie Gardens, St Peter Port from 3-4pm.
Daily until 14th September:

Art Exhibition: Hugo the Exile A photography exhibition at The Guernsey Museum and Art Gallery tracing author Victor Hugo’s exile on the island.

Other Guernsey Bailiwick events:

Herm Island Garden Tours Tuesdays April – mid September Join head gardener Brett Moore for a tour of Herm’s award winning gardens. The team of gardeners have received the RHS Britain in Bloom Gold Award in 2002, 2008, 2012 and 2013 for their stunning displays. A 2 hour trip costs £7.50.
