The Traditional Guernsey Summer Shows

Guernsey has a long held tradition of celebrating the fantastic horticultural and agricultural produce with a series of Summer shows. It’s a great time to visit as you can really get a flavour of traditional Guernsey. The three shows take place in August one after the other.

The First Show – The South Show

St Martin’s Community Centre, Rue Maze, St Martin’s

Friday 8th August, 1 – 8pm

Saturday 9th August, 10am – 7pm

£3.00 Adult ticket covers entry for both days
£1.00 Child ticket covers entry for both days

 

This is an indoor show full of flowers, fruit, prize veg and tasty home made treats. Islanders compete for the best garden and eagerly await the judges results. Side stalls and a bouncy castle as well as face painting, games and music keep everyone entertained.

The West Show

Old L’Eree Aerodrome, La Route de Rocque, St Peters

Tuesday to Thursday 12th, 13th & 14th August from 10am

Taking place midweek, the large West Show sees islanders competing in various categories, a huge funfair, arena entertainment and crafts galore and plenty of refreshments.

The North Show & Guernsey Battle of Flowers

Thousands of visitors flock to The North Show with its Battle of Flowers floral floats which compete for the prestigious “Prix D’Honneur” title.
