Jersey Diary Events 2013

8 Aug : Battle of Flowers Grand Day Parade – A festival parade like no other as imaginatively designed multi-coloured flower adorned floats parade the streets. Recognised as one of Jersey’s premier events on the summer calendar.

9 Aug : The following evening the Moonlight Parade concludes the two day event culminating in a stunning firework display over St Aubin’s Bay.

10 – 16 Aug : Jersey Film Festival – Watch great films alfresco in the park. Free of charge with a retiring collection. Bring a picnic and a blanket and enjoy!

21 – 26 Aug : Portuguese Food Festival – Enjoy the best of Portuguese food, culture and hospitality during this six day event. There’s live music and plenty to keep you entertained.

31 Aug – 1 Sep : Jersey Live Music Festival – Popular music festival now in its 10th year. This year’s artists include Bastille, Gabrielle Aplin, The Enemy & Deap Vally.

7 – 15 Sep : Hidden Treasures – Experience Jersey’s unique history. Explore castles by candlelight, hear terrifying tales, tread carefully on moonlit adventures along the seabed and be privileged to see glimpses behind closed doors.

19 Jul : KPMG Castle Nights at Castle Cornet – Popular family event in a stunning location featuring live music, singing, drama and fun for the children.

20 – 27 Jul : Town Carnival – Stacks of family fun with clowns, face painters, musicians and much more in St Peter Port’s streets.

28 Jul : Fleetwood Bac, Balcony Gig at Cobo Bay Hotel – A welcome return to arguably the best Fleetwood Mac Tribute Band. Supported by City Limits who will be playing all kinds of music from The Beatles, The Eagles and Crowded House to Oasis.

4 Aug : Taste Guernsey Seafront Sunday – Free cookery demos and tastings of delicious Guernsey produce and recipes along the Esplanade. Have a go at the Cookery School lesson of the day, join in crab picking and barbecue competitions and browse the stalls or just sit back and enjoy the entertainment from one of the al fresco refreshment and dining sites.

21 – 22 Aug : The North Show & Battle of Flowers – Lots of family entertainment including all of the traditional agricultural, horticultural and craft categories. The Battle of Flowers is held on the Thursday afternoon, when all spectators can take part in judging the floats.

26 Aug : Us4//U2 Balcony Gig at Cobo Bay Hotel.
Having performed all over the world, originally from Guernsey, Pete Frampton returns to his roots each year by popular request, surrounding himself with legendary local musicians.
